Swapping Seats in D2's

FYI really. I had asked earlier if anyone knew if it needed anything special to be done when changing seats, and it seems not. I put a post facelift sport drivers seat into a pre facelift sport today with no issues. Memory works etc just plug and play. T45 torx needed for bolts. The only difference between facelift and pre-facelift that I can see is airbags - there wern't any pre-facelift, so bear that in mind, you'll have a spare connector - But I'm quite happy now these sports seats will slide straight into the non sport....

My 98/99 pre-facelift has airbags in both the front and rear seats smile.gif.

I think they were added in '97 (maybe the '98 MY).

And sometimes there's an extra airbag on top of the passenger seat too

Mines got 10 airbags, all due for replacement at 2009 EEK2.GIF

infact, if you had a switch to inflate them, the car could probably be amphibious lol

Now heres something you dont see every day.... Mid conversion, passenger sport seat in, and original non sport drivers seat... Both seats now in and looks great. Interesting to note that the non sport seats offer exactly the same lateral support as the sports ones... but the sports one look way better !

This is going to the top of my 'I wish I'd never started' pile.. The attached photo is the current state of back seats after deciding that i would take my non sport rear seats, strip them of the covers, and simply pop on the sport leather covering from a donor car... I had to do it this way as my car has the full electrics on the rear, and the donor doesnt... oh my what a fiddly job, The bottom cushion alone is attached to the foam with 24 of the worlds strongest clips but I've already decided I might try and detonate the unused airbag kit when I've finished to wind down again the_finger.gif
