Brisel
Does anyone have any good tips on how I can remove my headlight protectors without damaging them or the bodywork? It's a MK IV R32 with standard VW protectors. TIA
Gti_Fly
slide them gently towards the middle of the car (slide them about 1-2cm), and this usually loosens the tension enough for them to be carefully lifted out from the bottom of the headlamp. dubzter
the only way to remove them is very carefully as I found out to my expense. Good luck. I broke one and never replaced it then had to replace the headlight ionstead. That was a sore one I can tell you
Jeffers
I've found them to be pretty easy - they kind of clip over the bottom of the headlight so a firm but careful pull at the bottom of the protector should bring it away from the light and and then you can unhook it from the top. Do all this with the bonnet ope though and careful not to knock the clip at the top off and into the engine bay!
