Mk V loan car

Hello

I've currently got a loan Mk V from VW whilst they try to sort out the catalogue of probs with my Mk IV and just thought I'd pop up a few comments.

First off the car has just done 1500m so still fresh and it's a manual. Drove the DSG a couple of times (the one Evo have on test, my Mk IV is the one in this months edition)and much prefer the manual. Not to say I didn't enjoy the DSG.

A few questions:

Have Mk V owners found theirs struggling a little between 4000 & 6000rpm? Is this likely to be because of the low milage?

My Mk IV pushes on throughout the rev range whith the slightest bit of right foot, but seems to have nothing like the the pull of the Mk V when firing through the gears.

Does anyone else find getting in and out of a 5 door Mk V with recaro's literally a pain in the arse? Felt like I've had piles all week as the bolsters are like a bit of iron placed exactly where you are parking your rear!

Does the milltek on the Mk IV make it sound more like the Mk V standard as I have to say the exhaust note is beautiful, a lot tighter than the standard Mk IV. If so I'll be popping to APS when the cars back!

I have to say that the MK V is really impressive in speed and ride quality, but I've felt a bit cocooned as it seems to do everything for you. My Mk IV lets you feel every bit of the drive, as it's a bit rough round the edges, but I have had much more fun as a result.

I personally found the technology on the MK V much further ahead of the MK IV and you can really tell how dated the MK IV is, but without all of the styling touches and individual features of the Mk IV I've not been swayed towards changing.

Is there anyone else who having changed to a MK V go back to the MK IV.

I'm sure all of my questions have been answered b4 but not much time to search through old posts.
