nicknick
Cross posting from Audi A6 forum in case there is a generic answer on this .. As per the subject - I can't find a fuse for the rear 12v socket in my avant (C5 A6 Avant) A 12v tyre compressor failed whilst in use and since then the socket doesn't work. I've checked the fuses but there is only one fuse listed (for cigarette lighters) and the two in the car still work ...so I'm lost as to where the fuse for the rear 12v socket is - does anyone know ? paul_tdi
I had this and it actually turned out to be the fuse in the compressor socket! Have you tried to power anything else using the socket? If you have sorry!
nicknick
The compressor failed properly (still going but no air and lots of smoke) ! ...the 12v socket doesn't power anything now and the only reason I have twigged is that I noticed my towbar brake/side lights didn't work. On investigation the towbar relay takes it 12V + power feed from the 12v socket in the boot rather than a direct feed from the battery as is advised, which is what made me check if it still works ! The handbook makes no mention of a separate fuse for the boot, and the only fuse it has for cigaratte lighters is intact (and the two cigaratte lighters in the car work). I've checked all the fuses in the fuse box and all are good so I'm at a loss as to where the rear 12v socket is running from
