Markpaq
I'm hoping the TSN collective can help me out here with an idea of how much this A2 is worth. I've seen one on the forecourt of a local independent advertised at £8.5K but i thought it was quite expensive considering the condition. It's a 2004 53 plate 1.4 TDI Sport with 42K on the clock. The bodywork hasn't been looked after and is quite badly scratched in a few places, the wheels (17")are very badly scuffed and kerbed. I don't have any idea of previous owners or service history yet but I was hoping that someone on here might have access to a Glasses guide to give me an idea. Booster
If it is a 75bhp model then it retails at £9200 and if it is a 90bhp model, £9450 (they hold their value well!!) but you obviously need to knock off whatever you see fit for the fact that the car hasn't been looked after. Markpaq
Thanks for that. I'm going to go and have a look at it this morning so I'll find out more about its history and spec. It's been a while since I've haggled for a second hand car so I wanted to find out a rough idea before I went. Thanks. BTW, does it still place you in a good position (as a buyer) if you can pay cash and have nothing to part exchange?
fizzbitt
Aye indeed it does... Cash buyers are very much favoured. Dont let them get away with anything.. Find a couple of examples of A2's and play the garages off each other.. lol

shao_khan
Try checking out the A2oc.net - lots of used examples there and some with nice specs. I would say with the A2 - try to decide what spec you would like first before buying. For example - Mine had to have split rear seats not bench option basically beccause it gives (for me) more flexibility is usage for tip trips and stuff, but also 3 seats in the rear is a bit hopefull. Leather, Bose, Opensky - all nice options and available if you lookaround. I would really give some thought to spec before parting with cash tho.
