Chrisg
Again! Sony HXD870 If you have a PAL version is it possible /easy/ pain in the ..... to get it to play NTSC DVDs or should I get a multi region version. I can walk in and get a PAL version locally, a multi I would have to order and wait for 5 days for delivery, I prefer to support local businesses, within reason, the price locally is a bit dearer but I could live with it. Thanks SitaS3 - Simon did you ever get yours ??
loafer27
i think its just a special remote control job to recode the machine to multi region so the local outlet may well have the necessary knowhow unless of course u mean currys/comet etc when they more than likely wont have a clue

sitas3
Chris, I eventually went for the Samsung DVD-SH855M for a smidge over £200 as this plays Divx films from an external USB hard drive as well as having its own internal 250gig hard drive for recording from the onboard freeview tuner. I considered the Sony unit but wanted the external divx support (which the Sony doesn't do) and have been scared off by the number of issues the Sony seems to have.
