To be fair it must have been a pritty crap rolling road becasue they have recorded power of weel over 1000bhp, using cars with turbo charged engines, and with the extra instant rush they give off, that must have far more strain on the dyno.

If you get my drift. But yes one very sexy motor. You can actually buy them still, but wheeler advises customers not to buy them becasue he actually considers them dangerous. He dosent mind puttin ghtme in a showroom, but not as a road car.

[/ QUOTE ] It was the torque that broke the dyno

Still there are cars which produce more than 649lbs which must have been recorded on the rolling road??? beerchug.gif

The 649 Ft/Lbs is only the race engine as it's airflow is governed by a restricter. The road engine gives over 900 bhp and over 1000 ft/lbs of torque! thats why it broke the dyno!

I actually worked on this car, i worked in the GT division at TVR while we were still racing the 12 in british GT, then we finished the project and i did the bodywork development for the Tuscan R.

I have very good memories of the old 12 especially going racing with it...

I heard a few second generation road-going examples were built and promptly sold. Don't believe there were any of the first generation.
