Petition to stop vehicle tracking and road pricing

18 posts in this topic

Just been listening to the radio and a petition has been set-up to try and stop the planned vehicle tracking and road pricing policy. This one is slightly different as it is on the PM's website. 59,000 signatures so far.

A couple of threads were posted a while back on the same subject, see Linky, and they were mostly met by sceptisim and members scared of signing the petition through fear of being arrested by the thought police. I've signed up 169144-ok.gif

Ari, there's only 14 signatures on the SORS petition as opposed to 60K on the Vehicle Tracking one............

Sorry. Did you not realise that this was actually the sign-up form for the road pricing trial? You lucky people are all first in the queue to have a little black box fitted complete with credit card swipe machine. suicide.gif

Yeah but you should see the "Stop the squirrel tracking" petition...

No it is a petition that the signed are requesting that the idea be scrapped. It quite clearly states that in the title and the details

[ QUOTE ]

We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Scrap the planned vehicle tracking and road pricing policy

Err, yes, I did realise that and signed it a month ago when it was originally posted. Just my failed attempt at humour.

Although saying that, it is on a government website, so who knows...... 169144-ok.gif

All this links in with the new ID card.

The black box fitted to cars will have a slot to take your ID card, so not only will they know where your car is going they will have a record of who was driving too!
