  7. Hello, Im looking on the NGK website at iridium spark plugs for my 2000 1.8T 20V GTI, i am unsure which ones to get as there are three different engine models with different plug types. The types are AGU/150bhp/110kW 20v Turbo for plug BKUR6ET-10, ARZ,AUM,AUG/150bhp/110kW 20v Turbo for part PFR6Q and AWD,AWW/150bhp/100kW 20v Turbo for part PFR6Q . I am prity sure it is the AGU plug type BKUR6ET i am looking sure but just want to be sure if anyone could please help and confirm this to me? Appreciate your help, Cheer Nick.

Hi, Had a similar prob before with a 98' mk4 golf 1.4, kept stalling if the revs dropped low enough while driving or coming to a stop, it idled very low and would sometimes drop to the point where it was about to cut out or did! Cleaned out the throttle body with wd40 and it did the trick, idled properly and stopped cutting out. Hope this is of use to you, best of luck, Nick.

  10. No i have not got mine fixed yet but need to do something asap. I can hear the screech even when the windows are closed. Let me know when you have done something with yours and i shall do the same.

Hi all, I have a 2000 vw golf 1.8t (70k), everytime i start the engine from cold there is a loud screech, when the car was in for the last service they told me it will cost about €100 to fix it, think its the starter motor or something. Does anyone know of a quick and easy and of course cheaper way of stopping it? Really appreciate any help. Thanks Nick.

Hi again, For the last three weeks there has been a light squeeking coming from the front left hand wheel, in the last few days it has become alot louder and i have noticed only mainly occurs when the wheel is straight and at relativly low speed. The brake pad is in ok condition with a good 5mm left of the pad. Could this be the brake disc? There is quite a lip in it or could it be a warped disc in some way? Car details as follows: Model:Vw golf GTI 1.8T Year:2000 Engine colde: ? Mileage:69k Appreciate any help, Cheers Nick.
  14. Hi, Can anyone shed some light on this for me? If you have a faulty coil pack do you have to replace all four or can you get away with replacing the faulty one? Also do faulty coil packs always show up on the computer? Thanks.

Hi people, I recently posted a similar issue with my gti loosing power, basically it has been re-mapped to 192bhp and i am not getting the full power all the time, it seems to come on intermittently when it feels like it! I changed the MAF and the boost is alot better no stuttering but the power is still not there and she runs standard. Brought the car to a fuel injector specialist and they put the car on the computer and found two faults, 1.a recent power failure which was myself disconnecting the battery and 2.the MAF which i replaced and so the fault should have cleared. They cleared the coding on the car but still no correct power! Anybody got and furhter suggestions, this is really wrecking my head! Been told could be a sparking problem maybe? Or could the re-mapping have gone faulty? Appreciate any help, thanks NIck.

  20. Guys thanks for your help! Disconnected the MAF last night and took her for a spin and there was no difference so looks very much like its the MAF. Will order one today and let you know how i get on. Thanks again, Nick.S.
  21. Thanks for the help, its mk4 gti, 1.8T, 2000, 68k. The power will just improve but still a stutter in the turbo boost at about 3000rpm. Cheers Nick.
  22. Hi people, this is my first post. I recently have had my gti tunned to 192bhp, it was running top but then has faded and the proper power only comes on occasionally especially when the car is cold in the morning! I have tested the coil packs, reset the ecu but the problem still persists, my next check is the maf! Before i go and spend the money can anyone tell me if this sounds like the source of the problem? A parts dealer said i can buy the inner part(electrical) of the maf rather than the whole thing, is this ok? Really appreciate anyone's help or opinion. Thank you, Nick.S.
