  1. I wouldn't say I struggled with DSG in the beginning but it does take some getting used to (switching between D and S when necessary definitely has its benefits). I also didn't really warm to the car until this month when I hit 9000 miles. All of a sudden the engine seems to have opened up and the car really flies now. Previously I had a Focus RS which was mildly modded in the engine dept. and felt so much quicker than the R. Now that it's opened up though the R feels great and with the lovely dry weather you can really lean on that 4wd and feel just how much extra traction it affords you. Great piece of kit, I'm sure you'll grow to love it like the rest of us, in whatever configuration you go for. PS Recaro's although not covered in the finest cow hide in the world really are lovely seats
  2. Without prejudice: - I had a T350C on loan for a couple of days and ok you need time to get used to a particular car and its various traits but I'll be honest I've felt safer at 160mph in other cars than I felt at 60mph in this thing. It was fairly wet but the car just constantly felt like it wanted to swap ends all the time (even in a straight line), great if you like donughting. Maybe I needed more time in the car but I have driven more powerful and quicker cars in the past and they didn't feel this unsafe. You pays your money though!
  3. [ QUOTE ] Hey Carlouk , That wasnt you that waved to two Mkiv dpb R32's near penwortham at the weekend was it ? The guy was in a mkv dpb R32. [/ QUOTE ] No it wasn't me, mine's Shadow Blue and anyway I was in Amsterdam over the weekend. I think I know who it could've, was it on a private plate?
  4. They used the old hook and cane technique through the cat flap to get the key and open the door to the house. They then rifled through my missus's mum's handbag and got the keys to the car. Same trick only 6 months back a few doors down with a pals X5. At least it wasn't my motor. This was in Preston, Lancs by the way
  5. Stayed at my girlfriends parents overnight and woke up this morning to find their mk5 tdi had been stolen. Looks like they were after my Mk5 R32 but couldn't find the keys. B**tards!!!
  6. Would it not be worth sacrificing the sat nav for leather recaro's though and maybe getting an oem sat nav off ebay at a later stage. I just think it will be so much easier to sell a car with leather when the time comes rather than without. Not telling you what to, just my subjective opinion. Also, fitting sat nav later is an easy option, deciding you want leather after delivery isn't really an option!
  7. Mine should arrive anytime in the next few days Shadow Blue also. Similar spec to yours, DSG, leather recaro's and all other options bar sat nav. I'm waiting until Sept to register mine though, ordered it back in May so what's a few more days! Why not ditch the nav and get recaro's in leather or do you prefer cloth?
  8. [ QUOTE ] I think if a thief is caught they should cut off their non-dominant hand and if they are caught again they can chop off their dominant hand. Just a thought. [/ QUOTE ] And if they do it again then they're ****in clever!!! lol
