Hi all its a whiile since iv posted and heres my latest problem!! Iv got a mk4 GTI 2000 with 86k miles.its devoloped an anoying rattle on tick over.It gets louder and a lower pitched sound when the revs rise but it dissapears above 2k revs.Timing belt was done at 60k miles but it sounds like the rattle is coming from behind the cover of the timing belt.Could it be a worn tentioner or am i way off?? Any ideas from u experts would be most welcome .Thanks

Hi again just wanted to dip into ure wealth of knolage again if u dont mind. Am 99% certin now that i want an A4, probably 2001 and will probably be up there milage wise around 90 to 100k,so the question is 1.8t petrol or diesel??andif diesel what one??

All i have heard about for a yearor so is Halo 3 this Halo 3 that so i finelly have in a got a copy.heres the problem; I dont like it! thanks lads,its a very clean car,slight scratch on roof but nothing that cant be sorted ,i was more worried with the sludge in the sump!,Is this comman in A4's and what damage can it do??.As for toys its quite standard as in no leather and not quattro.

Hi lads,a quick question for all u Audi heads in here. I have been offered a A4 1.8T by a mechanic friend of mine ,he is offering me a good deal as he got it for a steal. It came in to him cause it had an oil pressure warning light on and the old dear tht was driving it just wanted rid of it! he says it had "sludge" in the sump so all it needed was an oil change and he cleaned out some gause.He has been driving it now for four months without ant problems.What u guys think, take it or steer clear?? ohh this might be handy; It has 84,000miles and its 2001. Any advise would be great , Thanks lads.

Yes water does come out sometimes but its also when my cd boot changer goes heywire!how easy is it to get to where the problem might be?Does it involve removing headlining?cause i dont fancy that

hi lads, have 2000 mk4 gti and have noticed now and again damp in the boot,on further investigation ii have noticed water marks on head lining and down rear pilllar.however it is not consitant with wet weather!!!My theory is cud it be the rear wash wipe??does the water pipe take this route???Its doing my head in,any ideas??
