  1. Steve. Yes. I did exactly the same (although mine came from the dealer at 28 all round which was way too low) .. now the same as you and notice a definite improvement in straight line stability and comfort.
  2. [ QUOTE ] At night as always Audis look superb illuminated and this car lives up to the same high standards, this is further enhanced by the interior light pack which cascades soft red illumination over the centre console it really does look great. [/ QUOTE ] Hi Gez, and welcome Sound like you are well please with your purchase! Unfortunately you were mis-sold the interior light pack like many of us here .. that lovely eerie glow comes as standard. Look forward to seeing some pics. MoroCab
  3. I've been given a similar story. Apparently I've overspecced the car. Yeah right! .. it was the opposite when I traded in my Boxster! Bloody dealers. Never ever ever ever ever buying new again. Oh, I said that last time.
  4. [ QUOTE ] 3rd July 2002, out of curiosity, anyone get theirs earlier than this, trying to find who got one of the first in the country...? [/ QUOTE ] Keegs, got mine end of June ... 25th I think .. but I saw a couple (both red) at the end of May so I know I was not the first. Mine's a 3.0 with all the options apart from Sat Nav and cruise.
  5. Hello all. Due to a change in work circumstances (well I hated driving to Croydon every day anyway!) the Cab really does have to go now so I've reduced it by £2000. If anyone knows of someone looking for one, please direct them to http://www.tyresmoke.net/classifieds.php?ShowAd=50 Tks.
  6. I still think the Boxster roof mechanism is truly a masterpiece. I could fully raise or lower it at even the shortest traffic light stop. So far I haven't found a single red-light moment that is long enough for the Audi - yes I've had plenty of horn blasts! Afraid to say that I am one of those that often drive with the hood up on a nice day, for a few reasons. 1. The novelty has worn off after 8 years of cab ownership 2. Central London is not the best hood down driving experience due to potential car-jacking, and pollution. Hard top for me next time. When is that damn S4 coupe being announced?!!! Have fun tomorrow chaps.
  7. It makes a massive difference between 80 - 100mph. I have been down to our office in Portsmouth a few times recently (travelling down the M3). One one journey I didn't have it in place and even with the heated seats on I was freezing, could hardly hear the BOSE, and my suit jacket (on back seat) was in danger of leaving the car. On the return journey, with deflector fitted, nice and toasty warm, jacket firmly in place, and able to hold a conversation with my impressed passenger.
  8. Hi Ari, et all Chaps, not going to be there tomorrow. I've got a date with some scaffolding and a few cans of gloss paint. And my car is absolutely fithly from 2 weeks of tearing up and down the M3. Part of our estate rules here is that we are not allowed to clean cars on site, which means I get mine valeted at work, but the chap can't come until 16th. Anyway have fun, at least Ari will be representing me in Moro Blue! Take some pics, and hopefully you'll have another one sometime in the summer.
  9. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] A £5K drop on a £33K car is very good news I'd say, especially as he said he might up it when he sees it! Given the recent thread full of people losing £10K on S3's and £9K on Boxsters in under a year I'd say you've got a result there! [/ QUOTE ] You are probably right but £5k loss in 8 months stil hurts AZ [/ QUOTE ] AZ - the £9k drop Ari refers to is on my Boxster - but the story is more interesting than that. I took the car back to the supplying dealer (it was less than a year old) and they offered me £31k. I laughed, then cried. Anyway I started to phone around some Porsche 'used' specialists to see what they would offer, and eventually I got offered £33k over the phone, without him even viewing the car. We did the deal there and then and he said "look I'm down in Bristol and I've sold the car to a dealer near you in East London. Would you mind delivering directly?" ... yep yep yep you can guess the rest. Brilliant huh?!! You should have seen the dealer's face when I dropped the car off. Anyway if I can find this guy's number I'll give it to you. I am sure he dealt in Audi too. He told me afterwards that he made £250 simply by broking the car to a dealer. Not a lot of money, but not bad for a phone call.
  10. Oh I've run out in the past. My cab was 3 days old when that happened. Incorrectly calibrated fuel gauge.
  11. I ran my cab for about 20 miles on Friday with 5 miles showing on the DIS!! When I finally thought I could push it no more I filled up at BP (97 RON - 81.9p/l) and it cost £55.47! So I reckon I had another 10 miles at least left!
  12. Interesting. I wonder what the outcome would be if you were comparing the A4 cab to the new 3.2V6 TT?
  13. [ QUOTE ] What the hell are you doing on here at ten past midnight on a Friday night...??? [/ QUOTE ] Well it's 9.15 on Saturday now. How doubly sad does that make me? On my way out soon though .....
  14. I've owned/driven cars with over 150k miles. It all depends on how much you are paying for the car, and how much you are prepared to carry on paying. It's not always economical to buy an older high mileage car, but having said that you could put another 30k miles on without doing anything other than putting oil and fuel in, if you are lucky.
  15. I can assure you it does not do that!! That would bug me too. Now where is my white stick? And can someone stop that labrador from barking?
