  1. I bought an iPhone cradle for my A4 a month or so back. I have a 3G iPhone and at first it fitted but it felt a bit awkward clipping it in. But now things have loosened up a bit. It works well at charging the phone and providing a better signal via the external aerial (Comms connection is still via bluetooth though) However I have noticed that sometimes when I slot the phone in it constantly flips between charging and not charging. At first I thought this might be because it wasn't in the cradle correctly but - I have never managed to stop it no matter how many times I pop it out and put it back in again. I now have a theory that it does this when the phone is less than quarter charged. Perhaps the cradle can not provide enough current to charge a nearly flat iPhone. Has anyone else experienced this? Also since the software update before last on the iPhone I get a short loud buzz on the car kit in between when I dial a number and the number starts to ring. Quite annoying. Other than that no problems with phone book sync or anything else.
  2. Hi, I am thinking of buying a new A$ and was wondering if the bluetooth telephone kit was very usable without a sat nav screen. WIll I still get an address book and be able to pair with more than one phone?
  3. Have you managed to wire the sound in via your head unit. I fitted a iPod ice-link to the Chorus II on my A4 and noticed some connectors labelled for sat nav.
  4. Has anyone out there got a BMW bluetooth kit which they use with two phones? I am about to order a new one and was wondering if I am better off using an after market bluetooth kit (such as the Parrot). I have two phones (one for work and one for personal calls). I want to be able to easily swap between phones - I am not expecting to be able to use them at the same time. But do not want to go through too much hassle to swap between them. In my last car I had a sony ericson HCB-30 kit and although it could pair with up to 5 phones - it only really worked properly with the last paired phone - which was a bit of a hassle. Anybody swap phones regularily on a BMW bluetooth kit. I am not planning to but the sat nav unit - if that makes any difference?

  6. Hi I am considering changing my A4 for a 3 series. It looks like my budget will stretch to either a new 320d or a 320i with a few extra toys (like sat nav). My last couple of cars have been 2.0 litre A4s - so I have no real feeling for diesels. However I here great reports about the speed and economy of the 320d and certainly on paper it seems to run rings round it's petrol counterpart. What are your views - I have heard the the 320i is a better drive - should I go for that, or stick my TomTom in the 320d. P.S. I think I only really want the sat nav because I like the extended computer features and bluetooth phone integration it brings with it.
  7. Hi I currently use a TomTom 500 and I am very happy with the features. However I would prefer a more integrated solution. I am about to trade my A4 in for a new one. Is the DVD sat nav worth the cash? Does anyone know how the features compare? i.e. can you do a full post code search and add favorites
  8. A little bit of topic, but I was wondering what all you guys think to the DVD plus sat nav. I am about to trade my A4 in for a new one and was wondering if it is worth the extra cash. I currently use a TomTom 500 - does anyone know how they compare?
