  1. That is good to hear. I have been toying with the idea of buying a RNSE to replace my Concert, but from various bits of research I thought it would need some VAG.com coding, so its nice to hear it isnt needed Does anybody know of a reliable supplier of the RNSE - I am not sure if eBay is a reliable source, unless someone knows a good seller?
  2. Thanks very much for the reply and welcome I thought it was a proper auto, but after reading that semi-auto bit it got me thinking. The A3 has the same set up, but it doesn't have the FSI 1.6, just a 1.6 single cam & 2.0 FSI Yes you are right, the DSG is only available on the 1.9/2.0 TDI. The diesel route is tempting, but its just the extra cost compared to the miles is the main reason for going the petrol route. I will let you know how I get on.
  3. Hi Everyone I am looking to buy a new Golf and I am thinking of getting the new Match 1.6 FSI Automatic. They describe it as a 6 speed tiptronic, but I just need clarifying what kind of gearbox it is. Is it a proper auto with torque convertor or is it a semi-auto clutchless manual type? I have driven the 2.0 & 1.9 TDi's with the DSG and was really impressed, but as I only drive about 6,000 miles a year the extra cost really isn't worth it. Has anyone driven the petrol auto? I have only managed to find one test online so far and they really liked it, but I saw another site describing the auto as a 'semi-auto' and that is what has put the wind up me Look forward to you replies
