  1. Factory Recaro's like these? PistonHeads.com PistonHeads.com
  2. [ QUOTE ] That's the biggest so far I think. You won't get anywhere near that at a dealer. Have you had that in writing because a few brokers offered prices by assuming that they would get same discount on the S3 as on the A3 but then found that they couldn't and their discounts dropped to a few hundred quid IIRC. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah I'd been looking at where the deals where and saw uknewcars.com were offering a good deal which then turned out to be unavailable. Still feel although the old S3 was a great little car and the new one felt so much better it's overpriced, so may just wait until there are some decent 2nd hand buys or bigger discounts. When is the new A3 expected?
  3. I'm looking at buying a new S3 but not at £26,975 before options, which rises to £30,185k with options. Currently the best discount I've seen is £24,567 before options through jamjar. Anyone know of any places that better this?
  4. New to the E46 M3, having come from S3 and 993. Can anyone tell me if the Sport mode (to sharpen up the throttle responce) on the: - Standard E46 M3 Coupe (Manual) - Standard E46 M3 Convertible (Manual) Or whether it's only a SMG Option. Plus is the standard coupe a much better drive than the convertible?
  5. Just looking at www.uknewcars.com and they have the sunband as a £51 extra (all their extras are cheaper than direct from an Audi dealer), so I'd imagine the Audi sunband at £55 is correct.
  6. I've seen some nice pictures of the new S3 but none in Silver (possibly because people are bored with Silver but I'd like to see some). The only images are either taken from the website or from MPH. Anyone picked up there new S3 in Silver who've taken some shots?
  7. As everyone has said the Sat Nav is a rip off. Many of the above arguements on why you must have it are flawed however because: 1) Climate/ABS etc aren't easy/cheap to fit aftermarket so that is why people will always pay a premium for these devices. 2) Sat Nav is available in many forms and the TomTom/Garman devices are a real alternative to the manufacturer fitted systems and cheaper. 3) If you sell your car back to a dealer you're going to lose money anyway. You'd be better off selling privately. Yes an S3 might be worth slightly less if it doesn't have Sat Nav as standard but you didn't pay the premium upfront. Plus in a couple of years time the TomTom/Garmin systems will have come on in leaps and bounds and are likely to be cheaper and better than todays S3 system, so you could always offer on of those to a buyer. Everyone has their choice, it's subjective, I wouldn't fit Sat Nav but each to their own
  8. Flat Bottom with Round Boss Round with Square Boss
  9. I don't believe NOT having Sat Nav will effect the value of your S3 for a number of reasons. Cars that seem to be effected by having Sat Nav are S4/M3's where it is expected you'll have it fitted and not having it usually just makes the car harder to sell, but the price difference often isn't as much as the Sat Nav would have cost, so often you lose less!!! S3's will be rarer and you won't expect everyone to go for Sat Nav as there are other options which people may find more desirable e.g. IPOD connection which you can't have with Sat Nav or sports seats which some will spend their £££'s on to make the car sportier rather than Sat Nav which is more of a luxury item. Personally I'd save the money and have IPod connection. I wouldn't fit a tracker and I thought the fixed price servicing is available to all, just decide which type is right for your use.
  10. OK so the wheels look the same as the RS4 wheels but the offset is different. If the proper RS4 wheels are ET29 and the S3 and TT are different to the RS4. Are S3 and TT offsets the same (so I can put TT RS4 look wheels on the S3)? I'm just interested in having the RS4 look that fits the S3
  11. On the Audi website you can configure the new Audi TT with 9J x 19 '7-arm-double-spoke' design alloy wheels from November 2006 (these are the same as on the RS4). [image] http://mediaservice.audi.com/media/mmdb/...e//img/1pxt.gif [/image] My local dealer saod these wheels couldn't be fitted to the S3 due to the ABS system which sounds rubbish to me. I bet we see these available on the S3 early 2007.
  12. These could be another option:
  13. I'd recommend Toyo Proxes T1-R's, thse give great grip, wear well and don't cost the earth.
  14. [ QUOTE ] Is it just me or do all the new reviewers of the s3 only have 1 or 2 posts to their name? Dealers drumming up sales? [/ QUOTE ] Wrong assumption in my case. I currently drive a 3.2 Carrera and Caterham 7 HPC, but having previously had an S3 for day to day use am thinking about the new model and keeping the 7. Other options seem to be a Cayman S or wait to see if an RS3 materialises. I thought my review would have been of interest to people on here (as well as R246.com). Usually spend more time on Pistonheads or Blatchat but it's good to dip in and out of other forums.
  15. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I'm sure they do in replica form. [/ QUOTE ] They don't. Not with the correct offset. [/ QUOTE ] They may not exist, but I'm sure they could be made to fit by machining the correct offset or spacers. Where there's the will there's the way.
  16. My local dealer gave me a call to say he could get hold of one from another branch in the group and so I arranged to go down and test drive it this morning. The roads were streaming wet but there was little traffic when I arrived to see the Phantom Black Audi S3 sitting outside the showroom. The car had standard alloys, seats, wheel but had the following options Sat Nav, Park Assist, Bose, Split Load, various lighting packs. My first impression is that Phanton Black doesn't really do the car justice it makes it look a little dull, on opening the door the car appears low slung and the cabin is rock solid (although I'm not wild about the dash material). The standard seats were very comfortable (although I'd have liked electric rather than manual adjustment) and it all wraps nicely around you. The clutch is light, the new gearstift is a delight and at the first opportunity I had I buried the throttle into the floor to see what the performance was like. The power is superb, there is no noticable lag (it certainly feels better than my old 225bhp S3) and with the much improved gears the car feels so much better. Add in the cornering with little body roll, great grip, light but communicative steering feel and I can see this car being as if not more popular than the old model. To me Audi have taken the previous model and improved the performance, gears, body roll but left the core of a Q car which doesn't need to shout at everybody but delivers when you need it to. I'm certainly going to get one, but I'm going to get some 19"RS4 alloys put on to give it the look the performance and build quality deserves. Forget about reading the reviews, go and get a test drive and make your own mind up.
  17. He did mention a 350bhp figure for RS3.
  18. Dropped into the local stealer today he advised next week. Interesting the RS4 alloy will be available on the TT from 2007 and he's sure it will be availble for the S3 as well at the same time. He also suggested the RS3 would be announced early 2007.
