Just found these on the bay; EBC REDSTUFF FRONT PADS AUDI A8, S4, S6, S8 on eBay, also Brake Components, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 22-May-09 17:11:47 BST) Cheapest I can find anywhere. I think I might pick up a set to go on with a pair of GSF Zimmerman discs and see what result I get. I hope the discs are up to it.

I've stuck a couple of LR44 batteries into the key, it is an infrared unit. I can see the infrared transmitting but it's not operating the central locking or the immobiliser. I'm about to start turning the house upside down. I can't drive an astra again!

The batteries are dead in the spare key but that shouldn't make any difference to the immobiliser system. I'll try and pick up some replacements anyway. The ABS ecu has been changed and the battery has been disconected countless times since the last time the spare was used.

Hey guys, My usual key has vanished and my spare is not de-activating the imobiliser. Any ideas? The last time it was used was about 12 months ago when it worked fine. This is my daily driver so I'm in trouble without it. I've just phoned the stealer and they said they can't do anything without seeing the car which is a fat lot of good. I can't even start the engine. BTW, it's a 95 4.2 QS. Thanks in advance.

Turned out to be a leaking offside drive shaft seal. Found an excellent garage in Coventry called 'Just VW Audi'. collect the car from my work for free. £155 to replace the seal. thats 2 hours labour at £50 PH plus parts and VAT.

hi again, I've replaced the ECU but I've still got the problem. The pump is humming constantly, even with the ignition turned off. The new ECU is responding to VAG-COM much better but it's still giving the following fault code, even though I've cleared all the codes, this one comes back: VAG-COM Version: Release 409.1-US Control Module Part Number: 4D0 907 379 L Component and/or Version: ABS/EDS BOSCH 5 7680 Software Coding: 0265109043 Work Shop Code: BB 37680 1 Fault Found: 00302 - ABS Solenoid Valve Relay (J106) 35-00 - - Any ideas?? found it in the box under the bonnet, under one of the other two boxes. thanks. It's not solved the problem though, I think it may be an ABS relay somewhere. I'm going hunting....

hey, Hopefully just a quicky. Where is the ABS ECU Located in a '95 N Reg 4.2 QS? And how do I best access it? I've got one from A8Parts but I can't find a matching part on the car. Thanks

I get the following code from VAGCOM ABS system check before I get an error message saying that it can't contact the module. VAG-COM Version: Release 409.1-US Control Module Part Number: 4D0 907 379 L Component and/or Version: ABS/EDS BOSCH 5 7680 Software Coding: 0265109043 Work Shop Code: BB 37680 1 Fault Found: 00302 - ABS Solenoid Valve Relay (J106) 35-00 - - I think this is an incomplete system check. Question is, do I change just the ABS ECU or the Entire pump? ECU = 60 quid Pump = 110 quid thanks again.

The pump continues to pump or at least buzz even when the key is out of the ignition. The only way to stop it is to remove the fuse or disconect the battery. Both ABS warning lights are on, the orange light and the main dot matrix display. Both the AA guy and the Local VAG guy say it's the pump. Could be the Control unit I suppose. How can I find out?
