  1. Just had my car back from Audi and the problem described above appears to have gone away. Apparently, the clip that attaches the ECT sensor/sender became loose and after stress testing the vehicle, the pressure resulted in the clip braking and vehicle leaking the coolant. Having replaced the sensor/sender and adding G12 coolant, the vehicle is working fine for now.
  2. The correct concentration of coolant liquid was used to top it up. However, I could not wait for Audi, I went ahead and got (based on my suspicions and research) the ECT sender/sensor replaced and now the problem seems to have gone away but I am not taking any chances the car is going back to Audi during next week. Also, using a diagnostincs tool, I figured that the fan started running when the actual engine temperature reached 105 degrees (on the dashboard gauge the bar stays at just over 90 degrees). I am not sure if this is characteristic of this engine but it finally made the fan work without A/C and over the last two days no coolant has leaked. Any suggestions, advice welcome.
  3. Here is a really good link to get an up to date valuation for your vehicle (Audi and all the rest). It is the official Glass's Valuation Service provided by Vauxhall. Vauxhall
  4. I have a 2008 model Audi A6 2.0TDI Avant S-Line. Recently, the car leaked all the coolant on to the ground as a result of the hose connection to the radiator coming loose (not sure if it is pressure or something else). Later, I got the hose reconnected and the coolant topped up. However, at the moment when the car is run normal (without A/C on), temperature goes upto 90 C and stops but the actual engine temperature is higher and eventually it leaks the coolant from the valve that is attached to the hose's radiator connector. The only other alternative is to run the car with A/C On but this consumes a lot of fuel and still does not help to resolve the heat issue. On the onboard DIS, only the Coolant level error shows when coolant level drop but no other issues so far. I have tested the fans and they are (large and small one) are working when the A/C is turned ON, but when A/C is OFF, fans don't work at all. I have managed to start the fans manually once without having the A/C turned on and the fans did work but under normal driving conditions they do not work and pose a serious danger to the car. The car is going to Audi soon but I want to see if anyone can help to understand and rectify this problem. I have read in this forum on different threads about similar problems but I though I should share my specific problem to see if I could be helped to understand the problem further.
