  1. Yea, it has been a bit rough especially when the reason i dint go for another make of car was partly because of VW's build quality! lol The final straw was when they wanted to take it to Milton Keynes so they could diasect it further, that was when I realy dug my feet in ha ha. They can do that **** when they take it off me :-) The way I look at it is, there is always One bad apple on the tree, just my luck to be the one to get that apple thats all. As for the fully loaded bit, beleive me i am paying for those little extras! but the Pirelli I have now has most of what the Golf-R will have so anything less would have felt just that... less. The bonus is tho... on the Pirelli i got 6% discount on the price of the car (not the options). On the new Golf-R they have gave me 6% discount accross the board inc options which is a hefty lump off :-) as far as I am aware I am the only One to get any discount at all in the UK. I had to fight to the death for that part of the deal, but totaly worth it. I will defo put a write up on it when I get it guys, hope no one beats me to it first! I have been told I have been bumped to the front of the Q but how true that is I dont know.
  2. Hi guys, I've not been around for a while, shame on me haha The mic is totaly hidden and installed where the light is above the centre mirror, it is made to fit exactly and all wiring is made to the correct length and hidden. Hope this helps. It seems i may be seeing less of this site :-( This is not down to being a traitor! I am in a bit of a situation and have been since 4-6 weeks after I picked up my Pirelli. I Was reversing into my garage and heard a creeking/clonking noise from where the passengers feet would be, after that instance thiss happened more and more when say reversing into a parking space etc. The car has been to 2 VW dearlerships about 10 times, been stripped down naked and new parts put on... Im talking suspension, cradles, sub-frames, steering rack, hubs, wishbones, driveshafts etc etc etc. They couldnt find the cause so the chief engineer from Milton Keynes VW headquarters come to have a look, turns out my chassis welds are coming away! I drive this car hard i wont lie, but 6 week old cars shouldnt need welding! So after countless hours and threats of legal action I told VW I do not want a 'new' car that needs welding, if that were the case I would have bought a damaged repaired one and saved me thousands£. I either wanted a full refund or a upgrade to the Golf-R where i would pay the difference after getting FULL value for my car! Dont get me wrong, this fault is more of an annoyance to me, i love my pirelli but i would be mad not to go for the R after getting full value for mine and still being able to drive it for 16 month or so They agreed :-) My Golf-R goes into production week 16 so i should see it at the dealers mid May, fully loaded
  3. Well it seems I stand corrected.... Put a set of Goodyear F1 Asymetric's on last week, WOW much better :-) wet and dry. And I only got 6000 miles out of the Pirelli's. So its a bit Ironic that I have a set of Goodyears on a Pirelli GTI haha. Functionality is better that asthetics imho
  4. May have to wait a while till more owners are on board, you never know we might ammount to 5 or 6 by xmas Haha Thanks for your support
  5. Old thread i know but heres my opinion All of you that make judgement on the seats... How many of you have actualy sat in them or even touched them? Probably not many since there is only 141 pirelli golfs sold in the UK at the end of october. Kind of puts the 'limited edition' status of the ED30 into perspective! The seats were THE main reason i bought this car. Its simple, i am not scottish so wont wear tartan and leather is slippery and has no texture. And my god, how did i ever live without heated seats! I like the rear windows tinted out, my car is black and suits it well. I did not like the wheels at first, but as with most things in life they grew on me (except when i come to clean them haha) Have released the potential of the engine now with a +60bhp remap, worth every penny! Still reserve judgement on the tyres, might try some goodyear f1 asymetrics as suggested to me in another thread, see how they compare I am so happy, well at least until the GTI-R comes out with 4 wheel drive and 265ps to replace the R32 :-)
  6. Well, I did enquire about that also and got this reply back... There may be a numbered plaque available in the near future as most limited edition Volkswage models release a numbered plaque, but at current there is no news of this yet. Probably luck if 20 owners get our heads together and 'demand' our plaque. Not exactly swamp them like ED30 owners haha but worth pushing for it! Come on who's with me? There's only me here! haha Do you ED30 owners actualy have your plaque yet, as i have heard conflicting reports?
  7. Hope you got the DSG box with that? it is well worth the extra £££s!
  8. Just got this reply back from VW uk today when i asked how many Pirelli Golfs have been sold Good Afternoon, At the end of October 141 Golf GTI Pirelli's have been sold in the UK Regards Stephen McNeill Volkswagen Enquiry Management Bloody Hell! Scared to drive it now incase i bend it haha
  9. Am 99% sure this also works with MFD2 and yes all functions on the MFSW are utilised inc mute, voice dialing and answer call. You will need a phone that has Rsap (remote sim access protocol or something) built in, some work better than others. a have attached a list in pdf format which i found of compatible phones. A2DP (in the list) refers to a way of playing mp3's you have on your phone through the car stereo, not sure if this only works on the RNS-510 though. I had my unit supplied and installed by Stu from octavia-vrs.com, you can contact him at [email protected] 'The current price of the kit is £230 and fitting £75. You should also budget £15 for a couple of additional connectors that will make the installation neater.' or if u feel brave you can do the install yourself Octavia-vRS.com - OEM Integrated Bluetooth Telephone Install Hope this helps you phone compativility.pdf
  10. I think you are talking about the old p-zero's of 7 year ago (no red p-zero on my sidewalls, i would have been dissapointed for that reason alone!), there is new generation out now which are much improved and are the tyre of choice for some supercars, particularly for their wet performance.
  11. there is a unit goes uder the drivers seat that connects to the main RNS-510 head unit, most functions of the phone i.e. last calls missed calls, phone book etc can be utilised using the touch screen or voice activated obviously without getting your phone out your pocket.
  12. Yea, they come with pirelli P-Zero tyres and if they are good enough for supercars then they are good enough for my golf. The tyre tread seat pattern is on of the main reaasons i went for this car, feels nice, is grippy, better looking than tartan (i am not scottish, so why have tartan is beyond me) and is very unique and original and of course they are heated as standard. If i were to pick a tiny thing i would prefer different it is that the front grille should have had yellow piping around it to match the seats... Oh and the premium bluetooth phone kit should be a dealer option, would have saved me a journey to portsmouth to get stu from octavia-vrs.com to fit it, who btw i cant praise enough for his skilled, methodical and most of all carefull working methods.
