  1. Hi there, theres an S3 breaking on Audi-sport net in the trading post. It says they have most pasts expect panels. Hope this helps. You mention that it is software related. Will VAGCOM not tell you if the unit is faulty or not. There should be someone locally that would be able to do a diagnostics check without going to the dealer.
  2. Check this previous post. http://www.tyresmoke.net/ubbthreads/show...true#Post428754 Getting replacement keys is not as straight forward as you think. As explained in the post listed above you need to watch out for the immobiliser chip in the keyfob and you can no longer get the info needed to reprogram the keys from your local dealer. All key & immobiliser info is held on a main database which the dealers have to connect to but they still dont see key or immobiliser info, it only allows them to program keys. To cut a long story short the only way to get a new keyfob & blade without any hassles is to order & get key programmed through dealer. Hope this helps Rusty
  3. Just checked on Elsa and it specifies a torque value of 30Nm for the sump drain plug.
  4. Hi folks, Can anyone know of any good 4 wheel alignment specialists in central Scotland. I've just done the front anti-roll bar on my S3 which required the subframe to be removed so I thought I better get the tracking done on the car. Cheers Rusty
  5. Hi guys, I had a similar problem on my front window. The problem was that the steel wire that lifts the window up & down had snapped and became jammed in the window pulley mechanism. I had to get a new mechanism from the stealer. If you do need a new mechanism make sure you get the correct rivets from the stealer for mounting the mechaism & window motor. Hope this helps Rusty
  6. Hi folks, while I was checking my brakes today I have noticed that I have a broken rear spring on my S3. I checked on ETKA and it says that the spring for an S3 (1J0 511 115 BM) should have 5 blue paint marks on it but the springs on my car have 5 pink paint marks on it. When I contacted my local dealer they asked me for the colour coding of the spring but they said they only have ones with 5 voilet paint marks. Can anyone tell me if there is a colour coding chart for spring ratings. Could anyone also suggest where I could get replacement rear springs to suit the car. Cheers Rusty
  7. Hi folks, I'm looking for the eletrical diagram or current flow diagrams for an Audi A6 2.0 petrol (m-reg). My version of Elsa does not contain these diagrams for this model. Cheers Rusty
  8. Hi folks, I decided to change the front Anti-roll bar bushes on my S3 this weekend and while doing the job I've noticed that when I removed the old bushes I found that there is plastic sleeves on the ARB where the bushes fit. On inspection I have found that one of these sleeves was broken. I have checked on ETKA and there is no mention of these plastic sleeves but I have noticed that there is two different sizes of bushes (19mm & 21mm). I checked the new bushes i've got and its 19mm ones that I've been given and the diameter of the ARB is 19mm (without sleeves). Can anyone tell me where I can get these sleeves or would I get away with fitting the 19mm bushes without the use of the sleeves. Cheers Rusty
  9. Hi folks, When driving my car today I noticed that I am now getting a "boing" noise from the N/S spring when turning. I got someone to turn the steering wheel while I checked to see if I could identify where the noise was coming from. I noticed that when the steering was turned, the N/S spring did not turn smoothly with the strut but juddered round. I went and checked the O/S spring and it was turning smoothly. Does this mean that I've got a knacker'd top strut bearing or will the top strut bush just need greased? cheers
  10. Thanks for your reply, I'll get him to check the connection of the lambda sensdor to the harness. What do you mean by the readiness code for the lambda sensor. Will a new Lambda sensor eliminate any readiness code issues or do you have to adapt some thing withing vagcom. Would any readiness code issues cause the car to be over-fuelled. Cheers Rusty
  11. Hi guys, can anyone help One of my mates owns a VW polo 1.6 16V Gti(2000) and he's been complaining about getting a nasty smell of petrol on occasions. I connected vagcom to the car and ran an Autoscan on it. Its came up with the following code. Controller: 036 906 033 A Component: 1.6l/4V SIMOS3 00HS3259 Coding: 00031 Shop #: WSC 00788 1 Fault Found: 17511 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor Heating: B1 S1: Performance too Low P1103 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent Readiness: 0010 1001 I cleared the code and told him to run the car for a few days and I'll re-check it again. I have told him that he may require a new Lamba sensor but I'm a bit confused on the following issues. 1) Does the car have two lambda sensors (1 before & 1 after cat), and 2) What lambda sensor does this fault code effect? Cheers Rusty

  13. Hi folks, just done a autoscan with Vagcom on my S3 (2000) and it has logged a fault in the engine ECU. Fault code 16795 - Secondary Air Injection System: Incorrect Flow Detected P0411 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent Has anyone encountered this fault code before and how to recify it. I have an APR remap, could this cause an "incorrect flow" fault or have I a leak or something. Cheers Rusty
