Hi, I've got an Audi A3 2.0 Tdi and recently had the timing chain and water pump replaced. Less than 1 week after the work was done the car broke down. Under accelleration there was a 'bang' from the engine and then the car lost all power but could limp along (jerkily) at about 10mph. The mechanic says one of the pipes on the Intercooler has failed and this is not related to the work done on the timing chain. I know very little about how the A3 works and how it fits together but it seems too big a coincidence for these two events to happen so close together. I've known the mechanic for a few years and he's always seemed genuine. Should I trust the guy or is he taking the p$ss? I'm hoping someone with a better knowledge of the A3 will be able to shed light on the subject! Thanks, AC
