  1. Have already statrted to do this, only problem is thatmy Passat is an L not a CL and these appear to be very very thin on the ground in this area, the CL has the digital clock binnacle, from what I have seen. Though if the Temp/Fuel gauge works in the same way then I could blank out the hole and live with it. I've checked the sender unit and everything checks out and seeing how both gauges are not working this confirms the possibility of the gauge being knackered. Have put my name and request down with a couple of web-breakers and am just awaiting the Text messages to start, though seeing how I done this Saturday, I will not hear anything until Tuesday at the earliest. Posted this request on the off chance of finding some nice bloke who's got a garden full of old Passats and spares (It's not as silly as it sounds). So I live in hope anyway. Cheerz Deano
  2. Hi, I have a problem with the Temperature / Fuel gauge on my Passat (J Plate 1991) not working, the temp gauge works every now and then but the fuel gauge is as dead as Labours chances of re-election. Anyway, have checked main possibles and keep coming up with same answer - its the gauges that are buggered, I've changed the voltage stabaliser but to no avail, now I have a spare one... I need to source either a complete instrument binnacle or the gauge itself. I have the binnacle with the analogue clock and the temp/fuel gauage does not have the cut-out for the digital clock thingy. I live in Tractor land (Suffolk) so would need to pay postage to who-ever could help me out with a spare!!. Unless you are really local (50 miles). Unless of course someone has an idea as to what else it could be. Anyway, I await your replies............. Deano
  3. Thanx for that link, have checked in my local GSF distributor and they stock replacment lenses for £15 each, the catalogue states they 'should' fit my headlights, but how are they held on, do you have to prise off the original then glue the new one one, or is it held on with a clip of some sort. Any adhesives you know off that are good for glass and metal would help aswell........ Many Thanx Now going to check out Vagpart
  4. Hi, I'm a new member recently joined, having bought a VW Passat for the missus, sadly she hasn't had much luck with it and now needs BOTH front head-light lenses replacing, I have been told that these are available seperately aswell as being bought as a whole unit. I would need to know what adhesive (if any) would need to be used to fix the lenses onto the main body of the headlamp.. Anyway we are after 1 of each, I will then try and get some lense protectors (has anyone got some of these). Have already been down to the local breakers and these cars are as rare as rocking horse poo!....... Have checked the local GSF catalogue so hope to better these prices.. It is a MK 3 Passat (curved bull nosed front, with badge in middle) a standard 1.8 1991 on a J Plate I can be contacted via pm or I regulary check replies that have been posted. I will probably need to pay postage as I live in rural Suffolk, so it does not make financial sense to travel to say Manchester just to get a couple of lenses. Anyway, await any replies that you lot may offer. Many Thanx
