  1. Thanks very much for that, jsukA6. Now I know that, I'll stop hoping that some magic update will give me lane info!
  2. Hi there, I wonder if anybody can help/enlighten me: I have a 2008 57 plate 2.7 Quattro Le Mans A6 which I've had for just over a year (and absolutely love!). I updated the nav discs last year and now have 3D maps enabled. A friend has just acquired a 2009 A5 and says that his nav display shows which lane he needs to be in e.g at junctions and motorway exits, much like you get with a tomtom. Does anybody know whether I'd be able to get my nav display to do this with either updated 2012 nav discs or firmware upgrade? Thanks very much for your help.
  3. Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help. The passenger side wing mirror on my A6 (feb 2008 2.7 tdi quattro) tilts on selecting reverse. 2 questions: First, Is there any way to change the extent by which it tilts through the mmi settings? At the moment it tilts slightly too much for me. Secondly, is it possible to make the driver's side wing mirror tilt on reverse as well (a very useful feature on my old Lexus RX when backing onto my drive)? Any help/advice/comments gratefully received.
  4. Sounds a reasonable precaution albeit a tad inconvenient for owners. Thanks again, craigyb
  5. Thanks craigyb - looks like a trip to the dealer it is then. Ordinarily, am I supposed to be able to eject the disc myself, or is the owner's manual telling porky pies? It would be a bit of a bummer if it was a trip to the dealer every time an updated nav disc was released!
  6. I wonder if someone can help me: I can't seem to eject the satnav DVD from the (boot-mounted) drive of my Feb 2008 A6. I press the eject button but nothing happens, even with the ignition on. I know there's a disc in there cos I've been using navigation. The dealer's tech guy says the disc is "locked in" and that if I bring the car in, they'll do it for me (may take 15-20 mins he says). To save myself a 60 mile round trip, does anybody know how/if I can do it myself? There doesn't seem to be one of those manual eject pin holes that you normally get on ordinary cd/DVD drives. Any help or advice gratefully received.
  7. DanG and Scotty, thanks very much for your responses - clears that up. I still intend to get the cradle as, for me, the charging alone makes it worthwhile.
  8. Yep, just a flat base plate in the arm rest into which I'd connect the cradle. I have to say, it would be no big deal connecting via Bluetooth - I just wanted to better understand how it would work.
  9. Hi guys, I've just acquired a Feb 2008 A6 2.7 tdi Quattro s-line LeMans which I absolutely love - definitely the right choice to trade in my Lexus RX350! Anyway, I was wondering if you more experienced owners would be able to clarify something for me: the car comes with telephone prep - Bluetooth but no handset in centre console. I'm thinking if getting the cradle for the iPhone 4 so I can charge the phone and use the external ariel. If I were to plug the phone into the cradle, does the phone still need to connect to the car by Bluetooth? The manual seems to suggest that I could switch Bluetooth off and still connect, but I'm sure I've read somewhere that it still needs the Bluetooth to connect. Any thoughts and/or definitive answers gratefully received. Thanks
