  1. I used my free MOT voucher today, passed first time, no charge at all. They also registered me for the Audi free MOT insurance (worth up to £750) which will apply at my next MOT. Details of this also on the Audi website. Had my brake fluid changed today too, only £49 now for cars over 3 yrs old. So MOT and Brake Fluid Change for £49 all inclusive, quite happy with that, service from Worthing Audi was excellent too, recommended dealer.

  4. [ QUOTE ] Apologies for bringing this thread back to the top... didn't really feel this question justified a new thread... does a 2005 Sportback 2.0 TDi SE seriously not have fogs as standard? I've seen a few advertised with ghastly plastic blanks over the foglight openings. Are they mis-advertised standard (non SE) models, potential lower-spec European imports, or yet another example of Audi scrimping? Buyer don't want the firm suspension and low profile tyres on the Sport model. [/ QUOTE ] Yep 2005 SE Sportback will not have Fogs as standard, I had to specify them as an optional extra.
  5. My dealer told me 6 months for rattles. I asked Audi UK, they said warranty covers all manufacturing defects. Question is does a rattle constitute a manufacturing defect? Does in my book.
  6. One reason service costs vary between dealer is they don't all use the official book time. Find out the official book time for the job and then insist they stick to it. I got quotes for my service and some garages were between 50% and 75% more than others - reason being they were charging more time for the same job. Soon changed the quote when I informed them the book time for the job as specified by Audi UK was x hours and not y hours as they quoted. Many people on here know the book times. Alternatively Audi Customer services will tell you. Go into it with your eyes open and find out the facts before you commit.
  7. When I used to have a Clio, I went over a speed hump relatively slowly and one of the front springs just snapped. Advised to have both replaced as you have been.
  8. A guy on audi-sport.net with a TDi has just had his diagnosed as the fan mounts on the radiator rubbing on the radiator and making a hole. http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/showthread....=showthread.php
  9. There appears to be a number of us on here with the same problem and I've seen a few with the same problem on audi-sport.net, at least one maybe 2 of these had their problem diagnosed as head gasket. It can't be 'normal' or a 'characteristic' as the vast majority of people seem ok. I've never had to fill up with coolant in any previous cars except one that had a fractured hose and the manual seems to suggest it is a sealed system. I don't want to be told "it is normal, keep and eye on it" and then 1 month after the warranty runs out the head goes and it is my problem. The coolant shouldn't go from Max to Min in 7000 miles on a modern car.
  10. harddrive - where did they say the coolant was going then? Can't be right it is disappearing. I have the same issue, will be getting it looked at when it goes in for service.
  11. Mine is a petrol, don't know about Roswell.
  12. My A3 is less than 2yrs old and the coolant level is almost on the min when cold and marginally above the min when hot - i.e. half way up the first X above the min line. It has been like this for a while. I contacted Audi Cust Services who said that it would have been on the Max when it left the factory. Sounds like it has leaked at some point or has a slow leak. The car is due a service soon so I'll raise it then but in the meantime carry some spare antifreeze and some distilled water. Halfords didn't have the exact VW spec mentioned in the handbook, they had something similar but it wasn't exactly the same and I didn't want to take a risk. I therefore went to the local Audi parts counter and got a bottle, think it is 'G12 plus'. Was cheap enough. How far under the min line was your level for the light to come on? Does it come on the minute it is slightly under the min or does it have to go a fair bit under the min line? If I take the lid off I can see what must be a prob inside. Let us know how you get on.
  13. Whatever it is, shouldn't have done so on a car less than 2 years old. Loads of people just do short journeys, exhausts should last longer than this. Should surely be covered by warranty.
  14. DANDLE - how did u manage to cancel the car when it had been delivered? Surely they knew you couldn't pull out as you'd lose the deposit so couldn't they have not let you cancel it as it had arrived? Sounds like you did really well mate.
