  1. I would agree with last few comments noisy at low speeds but once over 40 I find that the tyre noise drowns out everything - in fact the tyre noise is a real problem for me, I find my ears ringing for some time after any trip over an hour. Interesting to see the oil consumption mentioned just been touring round Dorset and the oil check light came on again - I have now put 1.75 litres in 9500 miles and at £14 a litre its probably cancelled out any petrol savings and I don't thrash it either!
  2. quote Blue/black won't be good for resale IMO..... Hmmm - I will let you know in three years time . it has been very positively commented on by those who have seen it and it does lift the overall ambiance of the interior ... having said that nearly weent for the black/grey myself. Whatever... enjoy. When you are selling privately, I have found that overall condition is the be all and end all unless you've gone for a really naff exterior colour.
  3. Hi, I have just taken delivery of a 2.0TDI Sportback Sport in Dolphin Grey. I hate leather so stuck with the cloth in Blue/Black - I think it looks great and the check is far more subtle than my old A3 (1.8T Sport). Note that you don't get a blue dash unless you ask for it. Mine is Black. I have the standard Concert II Stereo and most people who have been in the car are surprised at how good it is (especially BMW drivers). Bose is a good selling point but having said that I have just got rid of my old, owned from new, very clean 1999 T Sport in just 48 hours without a sound upgrade. When the sound system is competing with tyre roar and diesel noise not sure I would spend the extra.
  4. Interesting comments - my 1999 1.8T water pump let go last August with no warning - luckily I was cruising past a speed camera and stopped immediately as it made a fair old din. Got the car recovered and Audi reckoned I had had a lucky escape as half the teeth were stripped off the cam belt when the pump briefly seized. New pump, theromstat system flush and cam belt cost £620. Water temperature was then better than ever but after 3 months suddenly started to drop to 75-80. Audi checked and said nothing showing up on diagnostics it then seemed to have put itself right. Still.... sold it now.
  5. Ordered my 2.0TDI Sportback Sport on 8/12 - delivered to dealer end of last week so only 8 weeks. Just waiting for 1st March to pick it up!
  6. We seem to have two problems reported on here and I have experienced both. The coolant warning seems to be related to the extreme sensitivity of the level sensor (according to my Audi dealer. When its warm and the liquid expands slightly there is no problem but when its cold.... The 4 beeps from the nearside rear is quite different and happened to me on random mornings for about 8 weeks. Hasn't happend again since September. I don't have a CD player so it's not the autochanger. I guess I had better see if my alarm actuall works - mind you its so feeble you have to be in the car to hear it!
  7. Just discovered and signed up to this site. My A3T Sport is a 99T plate on 80K miles (owned from new) - I have averaged around 38mpg during the last 5.5 years Normal daily drive is a 40 mile round commute with around 1.5 miles of 15 mph driving in queues. I'm hoping to do a lot better when the 2.0 TDI Sportback arrives in March.
