    LPG report

Hi to All.. I thought that it would be good idea to share info about LPG. So LPG conversion is getting more and more popular in UK. Of course drivers in Europe are ‘enjoying’ great saving for many years. I have converted my AUDI A6 3.0l QUATTRO SPORT AUTO ESTATE in January 2004 to BRC system in my car. LPG SYSTEM: Italian manufactories: Address: Via La Morra, 1 12062 – Cherasco (Cn) – Italy Tel: +39 0172 4868400 LPG Tank capacity: 67 Litres. (Tank is manufactured in Poland and installed in place for spare wheel.) Nozzles manufactured in Japan. I could choose Italian ones (cheaper), but got Japanese ones. LPG COST: With full tank I can drive 253.5 miles; cost £26.79 full tank of 67.15 litre of LPG (39.9 pence per 1 litre. (50% driving in the City and 50% sporty driving on motorways.) LPG cost in UK from 32.9 pence to 42.9 pence per 1 litre. The cost of full system was £928.57 Per one year I did 32K so it saved me about £2144 on fuel cost. (You have to deduct LPG system cost of course.) For 100 miles with petrol I have to pay: £17.26 For 100 miles with LPG I have to pay: £10.56 MERITS: Great savings! (I can spend saved money on other toys for my car) Full petrol tank plus full LPG gas – means that you could drive half of Europe non stop for refilling. (It may not be applicable to most drivers, but it is very important for busy ones) Free Congestion Charge in London City Centre. Cheaper Road Tax. Good for environment. (If you care about it, I DO!!!) Increase in price of the car (I am not so sure about this.. just my thought!) DEMERITS: You will loos a bit of power (I would say about 10% to 15%) compare to petrol. But it is just one push of the button and you switching back to petrol. Very, very long filling time!! Compare to petrol. To fill full tank it takes 4.5minits. You would understand this if you would try to do this! Also you have to keep your finger all the time on push button. One hand is free, so at least you can text all world around, if operator can’t see you  You are losing space in your boot, or space of your spare wheel. I have chosen space in spare wheel place. (If you have AA cover, you don’t even have to carry a spare wheel) You have to find petrol station witch has LPG for sale. It helps if you have Navigations system in your car with good software. Regards Mantas Ps: Please do excuse me for incorrect English Language.
  6. Hey ttandka I look to LPG in this way my friend: saving on petrol cost – spending on other toys for the car! Regards Mantas
  7. Hey SPLiiX It is not durex, this is Johnny Lifestyle super big size! It works as a small shelter man; my new best waiting to be done and ready for this coming spring!! Regards Mantas
  8. Hi Paul42Q I have BRC system in my car. Italian manufactories: Address: Via La Morra, 1 12062 – Cherasco (Cn) – Italy Tel: +39 0172 4868400 Regards Mantas
  9. To Chris B. Go for 2.7 or even bigger petrol engine and just petrol. AND get gas conversion. (LPG) My Quattro Sport ‘eats’ gas as follows: I have tanked up my Audi on M11 services near Cambridge and drove to London city centre and out from London towards Dover and came back on M20-M25-M11 to same service on M11 near Cambridge. I have been driving a bit faster then average speed. So as follows: 1 litre of LPG cost from £0.35 to £0.42 (0.40 average) PLUS FREE CONGESTION CHARGE in London 231 mile circle with 55 litres of LPG It cost me: £22.50 Regards Mantas
  10. Hello Ari! Hello SNEAKY McC Hello audi smitten Hello Chri B I am very pleased to meet you all! Regards Mantas
  11. Hey SPLiiX In my Quattro Sport I have just standard spec that 3.0 Quattro have. (Superduper cream lather interior) Also I have upgraded this car to GAS BI-FUEL! It is cheaper to run then petrol one and I do not have to pay congestion charge in London. I visiting London very often and driving loads on Europe’s motorways, so LPG it is good solution Regards Mantas
