  1. Thanks Skidmark, much appreciated. Which manual did you get this info from? Cheers Matt
  2. Yep, good point. Sorry all, we're talking about a 2000 X reg Mk4 GTi with full factory fitted bodykit in Canyon Red.
  3. Hi all, New to this and I'm looking for some advice... Posted it in the GTi forum but was told you are the guys to ask when it comes to removing body kit! Recently the missus chipped the side skirts of my GTi in a multi-story car park and I'm trying to do a respray job. Given the weather I was hoping to remove them and do them inside but I came to remove them yesterday and apart from finding the sole screw in the front wheel arch I can't seem to figure out how they are attached. Given that preparation and patience is the key to a good finish I wanted to try and do all the work off the car out of the horrible weather and kneeling all the time Can anyone tell me how I can remove the side skirts without damage to the rest of the car or to the skirts themselves? Do they just clip in and require just a bit of gentle persuasion? If I can't remove them it looks like I'll be waiting until the summer to respray on the car. Thanks Matt
  4. Thanks Riz, I guess its not going to be easy then...Any tips on how i could go about it?

  6. thanks tooloudman, I think I have been moving towards the S in the last few days, in fact going to look at one today but no 18" alloys unfortunately. I have to say, I have seen some rather nice cars were it not for some rather odd leather choices... each to their own I suppose. Some advice I've had is don't worry too much about the mileage. I'm looking at a 2.7 with sat nav, tracker etc tomorrow, 69K on the clock for 19.5K. Thought that wasn't too bad, or should I consider the mileage? Thanks Matt
  7. Hi all, New to this Porsche thing and I was wondering whether any of you guys could cast some advice with previous experience... I'm currently looking for either type of Boxster but something tells me I should stay away from the S for a couple of reasons. Firstly it costs more to buy. insurance doesn't seem to be much different but I am getting different opions when it comes to servicing. Is the S much more to service? I know some parts are more, such as brakes but apart from that would I feel the difference in my wallet? The other thing that is playing on my mind is that will I really notice the performance difference. I quite like the idea of having the S but just wondered if these are things I should forget about and go blow my 25K budget on the S or save a bit and get a 2.7? Any pointers greatly appreciated. Cheers Matt
