Providing the central locking works from both doors, you can get it fitted fairly easily. Cost £60 on the wife's old banger. However this is with a seperate key fob for the remote, and I think you wanted one key that does the lot. So is probably of no use whatsoever, but thought I'd mention it.

Hi there, new to this and wondered if anyone could help. Recently my "D" reg Passat GL5 estate has developed a wierd and annoying habit of keeping the cooling fan for the radiator running after the ignition has been turned off. However it does not stop and has drained the battery twice. I have through total luck rather than judgement found that the first fuse from the left stops the fan, but I was hoping someone might be able to advise on what they think is the cause of the problem. Engine is running normally and temp guage is just above middle reading. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. gadgetgricey.
