Oh well, it was a nice try. Turns out i've got gamma iv and bought a gamma v (which i want). But connectors on the gamma iv are different. Gamma iv uses same bottom two ISO connectors (brown and black) and has a single top connector (red) with 10 vertical pins. Gamma V has 3 top connectors (8, 6 and 6 pins). Does anyone know if there is a converter block available or is it going to be a chop the cables and wire in new connectors (fine on my 35 yr old landrover but reluctant on a 98 Passat). Cheers.

Wobby, cheers for the offer. I've done some more digging on the web and it looks like gamma units will fit all vw's post 1997. So head unit should fit. Shame i've still got to use the rubbish siemens 165 works mobile :-(. Thanks for the offer though.

I want to fit a later model gamma head unit into my 98 passat. The main reason is because i cant modify the speaker volume for the mobile in car kit, and my friend has a latter passat and says he can (same phone/car kit). The questions is: Will a later Gamma head unit fit? I also have a VW 6 CD changer attached.
