RobK
I keep getting this problem when trying to make a call from my K800i, it says "connecting" on the screen but there is no dial tone. I then have to press hang up, after which the phone reboots itself. Anyone else had this, and is there a fix? The phone has the Vodafone firmware btw. gizze
You may need the latest firmware Rob. Also delete the phone from the car, delete the call register history and then pair it again. Phones paired with call history can be a problem. Also make sure your default contacts are off the sim. RobK
I think I have the latest Vodafone firmware (R1ED001) but I'll check on SEUS later. Do you mean I should use sim contacts as the default? Seems to reduce the functionality if I do that, e.g. people with more than one number have to have seperate entries. gizze
Try deleting the phone first, then delete all call history and re-pair it, this may sort it out.

Soapsuds
never had this issue with my K800i..... Make sure it is fully connected first - i.e. you get the little headset symbol on the phone screen. Sounds daft, but you never know! Mine only paired sometimes with my old Parrot kit in my old car and did what you describe before making a call, then fully connecting to the kit and dialling. My firmware was a very old version until last night and it worked perfect. It is now running K810i firmware and still works fine..... Let us know how you get on and i can try replicating at this end!? Somehow.....
gizze
OK, looked into this a bit more and you need to delete all SMS messages, not the call history. So delete phone. Then delete sms messages. Then repair the phone. See how you get on with that.
RobK
Strange, how do SMS messages affect it?
gizze
Feck knows?! But there was loads of discussion about this on the E60 forums a while back and in the end someone worked out it was the initial pairing with alot of SMS messages that caused teh rpoblem. shark_90
Rob, my K800i does the same thing using a Parrot kit, looks like it has actually connected the call and the hands free thinks the call is in progress, then when you hang the call up the phone reboots itself. I'm also on Vodafone firmware.

Oh and the Themes are nicer!!
RobK
Just to report that since I did as Guy suggested, I haven't had any problems with my phone at all!
