Pikemortnoy
I know this may have been asked in the past and please forgive my ignorance but is it possible to have the CD changer in the armrest as well as a cable for an ipod and still control them both from the MFD2/steering wheel? Sorry again but new to the GTI and this forum really, appreciate any help. Cheers P.S Think this is my only gripe with the GTI - Why only one or the other?!?! Rayza
No I do not think this is possible as MFD2 does not actually have a dedicated Ipod connection. Instead it connects to the CD changer slot and fools the head unit in thinking it is a CD changer. So essentially with the Ipod connected you can select 5 playlists (CD 1-5) CD6 is for complete library of ipod. Bit if a pain as it also does not support track names on the head unit, but it's ok. dogbucket
The MFD2 has an aux audio input on the rear, or be it a funny non standard connector. I connected my ipod that way with the ipod in the cubby hole under the headlight switch. ipod control from the MFD2 is next to useless anyway, so I dont mind cueing up stuff on the ipod itself.
