anand01 Posted November 19, 2007 Report Share Posted November 19, 2007 Hi All, Does anyone know how to access the service indicator in a Mk5 GTi? I've got a March 06 model (5dr, Manual, 17s, DVD SatNav, Leather). Its on the long life servicing regime, and I'd like to know how long I've got before the 2nd service is due. I did do a quick search on here but couldn't find the answer elsewhere. I read an article in Evo a while back where they mentioned that they manually checked the service indicator, but didn't say how they did it. I had a look in my manual, but couldn't find a way of checking it before the car automatically starts telling you. Thanks in advance. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
oxfordlad Posted November 19, 2007 Report Share Posted November 19, 2007 Dogbuckets post: get in the car, shut the door, seatbelt on, turn the ignition on (dont start) then press and hold the trip reset 0/00 until the trip goes to 0. keep the button pressed then it will display distance/time til next service. although that may count down slower or faster depending on how it feels.
