Having downloaded the patch this afternoon and playing a few games successfully, when I tried to play tonight I faced the old 'Dowloading Game Settings' screen of doom.... After waiting patiently to see what would happen (nothing), I decided to delete the patch and try again (this approach had worked for me with the previous patch albeit that while I could play on-line games OK, I could never manage to accept invitations fron TSN friends. Worse was to follow - it seems the game won't take you to the online options menu unless the new (1.20) patch is already installed, so basically I am now totally unable to play COD4 online at all. I guess I will try and fiddle with the settings on my PS3 and Broadband router to see what effect this has - any suggestions for a) what to change on the PS3 and b) settings for BTopenworld on the router? Sparky Posted March 20, 2008 Report Share Posted March 20, 2008 A lot of users on other forums have said to reboot your router, and then reboot your PS3 (not just turning it off/standby). Hold the power button on the PS3 until it beeps (2-4 secs) and then it will force it to require a new IP address. I can't see this working all the time but if you google 'Dowloading Game Settings' then lots of people say the fix is to reboot the router. At the start I thought it was just myself and someone else (V8MOSE) in a head-to-head, and I was carefully creeping up to him only to have Hector come out of nowhere and knife me in the back.....
