IceBlue8
Hello to all you seasoned A8/S8 owners. I'm a fairly new owner of a 2002 A8 and brand new to Tyresmoke. I'm in Scotland if anyone organises meets north of the border. My 2.8 Sport Quattro is a dream apart from one niggle - the heater is pathetic! The temp guage rises to 90C pretty quickly and the car warms up to the set temperature on the climate control eventually. But at this time of year it's freezing for a good while after the engine has warmed up. It just doesn't seem to be capable of blowing hot air. The heater on my wife's mini is loads better! Any ideas? LostKiwi
Try checking the little air vents on the fascia are clear (not the ones that blow out but the little ones in the cnetre console that draw air in). You can gently vacuum them to make sure there is no fluff and dust blocking them. Also try removing the pollen filters in case they are blocked and restricting airflow. Good Luck
IceBlue8
Thanks - will check these. Do you know where to find the pollen filters?
LostKiwi
I think they are under the bonnet, attached to the bonnet at the trailing edge, one each side (they are in the '95s anyway). Its item 33 in the drawing.
IceBlue8
Thanks again! Will get a chance to sort it at the weekend (working away with no garage facilities at the moment). Cheers - Jim

IceBlue8
You were right about the little vents! A gentle vacuum and my 8 is as warm as toast! The pollen filters were fine, luckily. I'd have never found the solution - BIG THANKS!
