Biscuits
Chaps, Considering (more like gagging!) getting the 535d remapped. Anyone got any advice on different mapping companies. DMS have the highest track record with this engine, most people have only praise for their work, but horses for corses they are the most expensive. eMaps 'sound' like a good alternative and a lot cheaper. Just want some proper advice, not just "fwaaaaar, it's great", as different companies have different maps/curves. Cheers P
Golfer
Has Will@Ptorque gone out of business then?. His work is very good and his prices are Half most others.

kite
And...The car picks up quicker, gets on boost a bit earlier. Too be honest theres not a lot that can be done on the 2.5 180bhp as fuel pump is close to maxing out. The car shocks a few people for a diesel. I did expect economy to improve but it hasn't but my journey times have decreased. I had my Golf TDI (110) remapped and the improvement on this engine was huge, but that was a different Co. Soapsuds
I had my 320d (e91) remapped by chipped UK. Both these guys and eMaps has nothing but priase throughout various BMW forums. The only reason i ended up going with Chipped UK was that they were closer to our Worcester office that i visit once a week! (They are in Bromsgrove) They also now have a rolling road for 'live' tuning if you prefer. Price goes up obviously! I paid £275 + VAT. Covered 15,000 miles now since the remap (7 months) and not a jot has gone wrong. They retain the original Checksum code (as DMS do), so the dealer cannot tell if it has been remapped. Also, if the remap is wiped on service by BMW (e.g. a Software update), then they re-flash free of charge. I think eMaps is more of a mobile service. Price was similar - i haggled them down by £25-30 each one, saying i was a forum member on various forums. I dont think you would go wrong with either - i would recommend Chipped uk though
Merlot
DMS are getting my vote - so nice to speak to/email and I still have EVO's test of their 535d from 2005. Do they do a TSN discount?

[/ QUOTE ] Doesn't this improve your economy... since the engine isn't running for as long.

Biscuits
Thanks for your comments. I think eMaps are going to be the ones I/we go for... good price and more importantly, good feedback for people I've asked. Will keep you posted how I get on. S80PMC
A newly mapped 535d Sport (DMS) in Auto Express last week. It's just won some kind of diesel land speed record, clocked out at 174MPH with their standard Map. Had DMS re-map my 535d Sport, my E60 M5 & my current B7 RS4. Nothing but praise. Biscuits
All done very professionally and I am very pleased. Thanks Simon at eMaps I'm not a man of many words . . . so Basically below 2k it's not a whole lot different. 2k-3k it really pulls a lot harder now and then above 3k it has a very different feel/sound. I now think my old 996 C2 would struggle keeping up with it over 80mph... Let's just say I'm please and am now looking to buy shares in Goodyear !
