"SERVICE NOW" indicator?

Hi all

HAve had the "SERVICE INDICATOR" come up on me as the my last service was 6000 miles ago its not due for another 4000 or so etc! the manual doesnt really help either about how to get rid of it any ideas ( I seem so thick on this subject )

You have to take it back to the dealership or a VAG specialist to see why the service indicator has come up so soon. Only they have the equipment to clear the service indicator unless you know someone who has vag-com but either way, you should have it looked at professionally.

I had my MKIV serviced yesterday at Alan Day VW. I actually saw the job card before servicing began (only because I asked the Servive Advisor to write on it that I did not want the car washed). One of the things listed on it was "Delete Service Indicator", (i.e reset it). I suspect they may have forgotten to do the same to yours when you last had it serviced. You should take it back to that dealer who will be able to look up the history of work done on your car and therefore reset the indicator.

thanks for advice folks i messed arounf with the reset indicator below the mileage reading and should be ok now due for a service Jnauary 2009 on 40000 miles so should be fine
