avantissimo Posted February 19, 2008 Report Share Posted February 19, 2008 I recently bought a new 2008 3.0TDi quattro A6 Le Mans quattro Avant having traded in my 2006 A6 S-Line 2.7 TDi quattro. I have noticed an annoying change in the newer model that was not apparent in my previous C6. Its to do with the headlight washer system. In my 2006 A6, the full washer jets only came on if you held the windscreen washer jet down for 2 seconds or more with the lights on. On my 2008 model, when the lights are on, the instant you hold down the windscreen washer jet the headlight washers are activated straight away. This is very annoying, as often you just want a quick squirt of the windscreen and don't want to wash the lights. This is even more annoying when you have just washed the car and only want to moisten the windscreen to clear away dust etc. Something must have changed in the car set-up as my previous A6 didn't do this. Has anyone else noticed this? Does anyone know if there is a way to adjust it? I've looked in the manual and it doesn't say anything about it. Thanks. stig414 Posted February 21, 2008 Report Share Posted February 21, 2008 My 2004 model with xenons did wash after two seconds, but since it's been to the dealers, it washes instantly!
