sidicks Posted April 14, 2008 Report Share Posted April 14, 2008 What do you mean by sharing the Kart codes with each other. :confused: I think he is talking about an on-line game with a friend from a DIFFERENT console - like you, when my wife and I tried to play an online game from a single Wii, as the second player she was listed as "guest", and hence could not accrue (or lose!) points. gizze Posted April 19, 2008 Report Share Posted April 19, 2008 I think this is the worst Mario Kart game so far, tracks are too wide meaning it has to have loads of players on at once, which the Wii can't handle, and the way you can drop back to last in one swoop just takes the fun out of it, not so bad with a roomfull of mates but online?? You just feel cheated. Mario Kart was always about razor sharp handling and tight tracks, fighting for position, it was one of those 'hold your breath for 3 minutes' type games, this has lost all that. CarMad Posted April 19, 2008 Author Report Share Posted April 19, 2008 Rubbish, plus plenty of the old tracks are still on there as well, some of the new tracks are very narrow and unforgiving, the mine track pops into my head for a start and bowsers castle is a nightmare. However I will agree that its frustrating to drop back from 1st to 12th within a few corners at times but thats also part of the fun. I chose a rubbish character / car combo last night and went from 5400 points to sub 500 within a few races, I wasn't impressed. I haven't thown the wheel through the screen yet but I've been close. In a close race then yes it is possible to drop from 1st to 12th with one hit but on a good course you can build enough of a lead to eliminate that, and it adds to the tension. I saw a chap with nearly 8000 points online and he slaughtered us all race after race, so skill is still the major factor. The major plus for me is that my mates and I love it, and I've actually seen my girlfriend pick up the wheel and play too - the first game ever (on any console) to please us all Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
bpsmith Posted April 23, 2008 Report Share Posted April 23, 2008 I totally agree! The tracks are all there, and Rainbow Road is the Daddy of all! How hard!?! It gets new people into the game and its not Gran Turismo at the end of the day? Never was! I think the fun is really to be had when your 100 yards from the line in 1st and you get a red shell launched at you and finish last! You really have to laugh at that.
