Friend's got a Parrat Bluetooth in his Astra, and on his car you get the caller ID come up on the dash and Kenwood DAB radio (how cool is that). Does your's do the same in the VW?

I've no idea what a dealer would charge, but I have just fitted my SonyEricsson Bluetooth Carkit myself, and have the sound come out of the VW SatNav headunit. Works really well, and it only took me a couple of hours to fit.. Shouldn't take a dealer much more than 90mins..

VW dealers won't fit them, according to VW UK anyway. Policy is they don't want to be responsible for a phones kit interfearing with the cars radio. I had a standard Nokia kit installed for my 6310i into my lemon & asked VW if they would pay for it to be swapped over. Their repsonse was no, as they don't want to take any form of responsibility for any "potential" interfearance.

Funny thing is, the guys who installed my kit (Corporate Telecom in N'hants Tel: 01604 603009) do the VW fleet cars in MK. Doesn't make sense does it!!

Also, Corporate Tel. did fantastic job of installing my kit. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the SE Mids area.

Cheers GTI-Fly but not sure I trust myself to install - not the most technically gifted bloke, only just worked out how to use my Delta headunit. I'm looking forward to voice activated dialling, not quite merc's linguatronic but a hell of a lot cheaper!
