garcon magnifique
I'm not an expert on the Japanese spec models, but I'm fairly sure that ... Spec C used to be the hardcore lightweight car (same as the RA) but is now effectively one step on from the Japanese specification STI. 2.0 twin scroll turbo, some lightweight panels etc. but most of the usual STI luxuries and trim. Type RA is the next level of 'extreme' specification, closer to the production class rally car. Same engine, but possibly a different lower ratio gearbox, and more 'stripped out', i.e. more use of lightweight panels and fewer luxuries. Looking at the link, 46k Euros sounds very expensive for that. Litchfield Imports sold the Japanese version 2007 model Spec C for 28k GBP (around 40k Euros) new. Not sure if they can still get them. If you have that kind of budget and are hankering after the ultimate version of the old model Impreza, the one you definitely want (if you can find one) is the Impreza WRX STI Type RA-R. Final Japanese spec special edition of 300 units.
