gizze
Funnily enough, the bluetooth connection keeps dropping on my N95 in the 730d, that is a 56 plate, Feb 2007. That obviously has my old man's phone paired as well. Have you tried deleting both phones, leave the car for an hour and then pairing yours first, see what happens then? tom_hargreaves
I have a really annoying prob with the 130 BT kit.My iPhone connects, transfers contacts and the signal metr all works fine on the Business CD head unit... but as soon as a call connects (dial works fine too) the phone disconnects from the head unit. Is there any way of checking the firmware version of the BT kit in the car, so I can ask the dealer if there is an update. Dealer want 1.5hrs labour to investigate and would then correct if nessasary. Cheers P You're in luck, I have an iPhone and used to work for BMW. I had the same problem all the time. This is incredibly annoying and defies the point but it did it with mine if the iPhone was locked. You have to wake it up and go to the main menu. That did it for me anyway. Also try ringing someone from your phone instead of using the car controls, that can also fix it. I had a similar problem with a Samsung D900 if the slide was closed (because doing that locks the phone). Your firmware for your iPhone should be the most up to date. As for the car's software they shouldn't need 1.5 hours labour to check if it needs updating. They should be able to tell you whether it does need an update by just having one of the technicians have a look. Then it actually does take that long to update as stupid as it sounds. Thanks for that. I have switched off the automatic lock, so will make sure the menu is visable while in the car and give it a go. I wonder if this will also cure the odd occation the iPhone doen't transfer the audio to the car kit speakers in my 5er. Cheers

Cheers I also had that problem, conveniently when I was in a 5 aswell (coincidence?). Keeping the phone unlocked seemed to sort that to. Bit annoying having to keep it on the main menu all the time, aswell as having your bluetooth on. It drained my battery quite a bit so I just kept turning my bluetooth off when I didn't need it. Hope this helps.

I have the BMW iPhone snap-in cradle adaptor, so the battery is always kept topped up day-to-day. It would be great if this does fix the prob in the wifes 130, as she want's to inherit my iPhone when I get the free upgrade to the 3G iPhone next month. Cheers I would imagine it will have the same effect in each car. I didn't get a chance to try my iPhone in a 130, i had an old Nokia then and it was fine. P.S. Can't wait for the 3G version, my girlfriend is stealing mine off me
Golfer
To get the contacts up you may have to download the app designed for the Nokia 610 car kit, install that and set it to start automatically. Now pair your phone again with the car and you get it working 100%. App on the nokia website. Thanks guy, did all that, got it unning on auto, still nothing!!, I have the N95 8G, does it work with this phone?. I have driven about 30 miles now still nout. gizze
I'm not sure why it is, a few people have said they can't get it working, where as loads have, same phone firmware for both, so it has to be the module in the car. But if it is not on their approved list you can't really say sod all.
rottenbend
Not that it is much help but the N95 (and some of the other new Nokia phones) has a notoriously bad Bluetooth implementation stack - seems to behave inconsistently. I'd honestly think about getting something or else spend forever trying to find the exact combination of firmware which works... It's a shame because Nokia's used to be rock solid in this regard.
