gear shift paddles, retro-fit

Hi guys,

Is it possible to retro-fit a steering wheel with shift paddles and how complicated would that be ?

The paddles are incorporated into the steering wheel therefore I would reckon you would need to swap over the complete steering wheel. I would also expect that you would need to activate them using VAG.com

Also probably a new slip ring and steering controller module, if you do not have any controls on the wheel now, then your slip and controller are not likely to support any added ones.

Don't shoot me down, but from the looks of your avatar your car is a manual.

You're not thinking of of retro fitting paddle shift to a manual car? Or is that so obvious I now look like a c@ck for saying something?

that pic is from 2003. :-) Didn't change it.. Currently driving an A3 Sportback, manual too. My dealer told me that he's got a demo A4 S-line 2.0TDI Multitronic, 2-3 months old.. And i wanted to know is it possible to fit the paddles because, for me, it's much more interesting to drive that car while being able to shift up and down via the steering wheel. And, I think I once read someone here, on the forum, did that... Thats why I asked...Also, I'm in that period that I have to change my car :-) , and every option is considered. B8, new or like the one i was talking about.. or maybe to wait for a Q5..
