Figure11
Fitting a PC in the car. All going well until I fire it up. Major interferance when the engine is running. Should I fit some form of suppresion to both the Head Unit and PC? Secondly, there is this quite high tone that comes out of the speakers as soon as I switch the headunit on. It's like a violin note, constant pitch and volume, inaudible while music is playing but well annoying while listening to speach. Any ideas? The head unit is a CarTFT.com motorised touchscreen K500. craigyb
Try using a ground loop isolator for the audi output, it will clean stuff up a lot. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=ground%20loop&source=15&SD=Y

Figure11
Went in to get one of these today and noticed they are suppose to go in the pre-amp stage. The youth that served me didn't have a clue. Can this be used post amp as the head unit amps the signal to the speakers? Mike
craigyb
I connect them directly onto the line out of the PC's before the main amplifier.
