chriswastle
I have had the above unit installed into my 2008 golf gti, a fantastic bit of kit the sound quality and the navigation system really are superb. The unit however sits about 8mm further in than the fitting surround ( which is flush with dash) Does any one know if this is correct? i have seen pics on here of the dnx 7220 which are flush. has the unit been fitted with an incorrect fitting plate? The supplier says its the kenwood fitting plate but i have my doubts, any thoughts or comments would be appreciated
twopipes
HI Chris, I'm looking at a similar unit (kenwood or pioneer) in my gti, I have just posted in the GTI forum. Apart from the 8mm space how are you getting on with the unit now? still pleased? Also what other models did you consider? Cheers
chriswastle
Hi, Still loving the unit, i did consider the 7220 and the pioneer avic bt3. I prefered the look of the 5220 with the volume control and the fact that its the latest model, i am waiting delivery of a kenwood adaptor kit, hopefully this will cure the fitting issue
