Gash
Hi all I have a 2001 passat TDI pd130, when the car is first started it runs like a dream, when the engine starts to get warm , the engine starts to misfire and bounces around all over the place. If i keep drivng until i can see the temp guage drop (indicating the thermostat opening), then switch off the engine and restart, the car runs perfectly . I have had the codes read, intermittant electrical connection to no. 4 cylinder and intermittant misfire of no 4 cylinder. I have checked the basics i.e connections and cables and cannot see anything obvious. My thinking is that i have a sensor fail somewhere in relation to the coincidence of the temp levels. Any help would be greatly appreciated Gash
cruiser647
Not sure, but sounds like it could be a dry joint on a connector of some sort? It warms up, expands and any split/dry joint expands, hence dodgy connection??? Disconnect them all, and spray all the joints/contacts/connectors you can find with WD-
Wobby
Could this be the start of the injector loom wiring failing? Quite easy to replace and not an expensive part. Easier to replace than mess about trying to fix.
meriafel
Please let us know how you get on with the misfire problem. With a similar car from 2002 but with no problems at present, need to know the possible solution! Thanks
CJR
I have EXACTLY the same problem (to the letter) with my 2001 Passat which I currently run for my daily commute. Did you get to the bottom of what the problem was. I would dearly like to know. Thanks in advance.....
