Well I went into Comet today looking for them to price match a TOSHIBA 37AV505D down to 475 (on line price at a couple of places) told them might even be looking for 2 Apparently they don't have web access so had to ring up etc. finally came up with some story about not matching web prices so I gave them my number and told them to call if they wanted to sell some TVs - no-one called (credit crunch, what credit crunch ?)

Tried another branch and was told would match for today only but if I came back for 2nd TV would talk - so 1 TV bought !

TV seems very good with great sound & picture quality not sure if its the last word in TVs but will certainly do me setup etc. was very straightforward stand fixings were all good quality (even came with a decent ball-ended allen key) + a cleaning cloth

It has HDMI ports is it worth connecting my (non-HD) DVD player using these or is the current red/yellow/white cable setup fine ?

I bought the Samsung and it is fantastic. I spent too many weeks on the sepecific forums such as avforms.com etc and the Samsung seemed to be getting very good reviews. The rose tint effect black really looks good too +++

Yes you pay a bit more as the model is brand new but if you look at the spec you are getting 50000:1 contrast ration 108p and 100hz technology. It handles normal tv very well especially through my BT vision box running in 1080i mode via HDMI. The playsation 3 in 1080p mode is simply stunning.

With 4 HDMI ports it allows for plenty of connections, hooked up my amp and connected via optical cable to the PS3 and Bt Vision box. All work fantasticly and a great picture. Highly recomend this TV to anyone +++

Also the free Blueray player that comes with it is very good, worth £299 and you can see why the reviews of this player are so good. You could get the package for £999 then sell this for £180 on ebay making the TV more of a bargain if you have a PS3 as a blueray player already.

some friends of mine have just picked up this TV, they purchased the 40" from Costco for £880 but it was too small for the room, so after a few weeks of "making sure" they took it back to swap for the £1495 46" which had miraculously been dropped to £1099 odd!! Couldnt believe it!

Its the same one - Rose tinted frame and the pics are excellent. Good range of settings - used in a conservatory and even with backlight up in dynamic its still a really good picture.

Good TV if anyone is interested - Costco now do 90 day return with 5 years gurantee!
