This film get away only with to rub it lightly with a water cloth or paper

what is the problem ? does anything toxic or harmfull air gets into the cabin?

Had this on our MKIV Golf.

Check the outside temperature is reading okay, the sensor on ours was faulty and IIRC every now and then it would read -17 degrees.

This causes the compressor (air-con) to switch off and any moisture in the system to come through and steam the car up.

Another thing that went wrong was the rear washer hose came off and filled the headlining with water... this caused a horid pond smell and also extra misting.

Ahhhh.... that was a good part ex day :D :D :D
