Central Locking Pump removal/Inspection

Has anyone had one of these out? I really need to get to it later and at least inspect it. You may have seen me comment that mine runs on a bit, well now I get about 7 seconds of run on, enough to get in the car, make your self comfy etc before the pump stops and that can't be doing it any good. VAGcom said there it was running on, possible leak - but opinion seems to be that a leak elsewhere in the system is pretty unlikely so things to check would be useful info from anyone, when I get to the pump..

Thanks

Remove the CD changer from the boot, and all the trim that runs down the left hand side of the boot - Not as big a job as it seems.

The central locking pump is stuffed inside a big foam rubber housing that is shoved (literally) in a bracket behind where your radio aerial will sit. Its reasonably easy to see it as it has a good number of wiring connectors and also air tubes running into it.

Take the trim off and lock/unlock the doors. You wont miss it +++

Thanks

Really hope something is just not secure or obviously leaking! Doors all operate as normal, and don't seem particularly slow to lock/unlock. have to wait and see (appreciate you commented on this before IT_S8 but was also looking for things to check out)

I am going in this evening.. duck tape ready!
