chasdrury
So, after all these years I decided I need an iPod to store my huge amounts of Music. Last time I used iTunes it moved all my music out of my folders and did what it wanted with it. I have all my music arranged by Artist Folder, then Album title folders. All the ID3 tags are correct and full albums only. I have ordered a 160Gb Classic, how do I set up iTunes to not wreck my folder structure and so that browsing via album title will work properly? I have lots of Various Atrist compilations - do I need to make the Album title and Artist name all the same for them to appear in the same album in CoverFlo on the iPod? Lastly, my mum is also having an iPod - there are 2 profiles on the PC, can each profile manage it's own iPod on the computer or will I need to run spearate devices? Each device will have a vastly different playlist! Thanks Chas
Pumazooma
In the iTunes advanced settings there are options to let it organise the music for you. Just turn those off. I have lots of Various Atrist compilations - do I need to make the Album title and Artist name all the same for them to appear in the same album in CoverFlo on the iPod? Yep. Lastly, my mum is also having an iPod - there are 2 profiles on the PC, can each profile manage it's own iPod on the computer or will I need to run spearate devices? Each device will have a vastly different playlist! Easiest way to do that is to use the sync option in the ipod settings (click the ipod icon in the playlist). Then you can choose which playlists from the whole library get loaded onto the ipod and choose different ones for each.
