Camber adjustment on S8 D2

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know whether the front wheel camber is adjustable on the S8?

We did align the car last w/e, resulting in sharper steering and improved handling. However, there is some difference in camber between left and right (front). (This causes a slight bias towards the right). It doesn't seem the camber is adjustable though...

Notably; in El*a there's a remark about adjusting camber AND caster when the tyres wear unevenly. So that would implicate it IS possible...

Who can tell me whether - and how - to adjust this?

And - if it's not adjustable, where should one look for the cause of this difference? Some rubbers on the way out? (Which ones?)

TIA!

I have stripped a number of front sub frames down and I can't see how!

The rear has eccentric captured washers and it quite easy. mkoneman has done it. As for the front...

The camber cannot be adjusted.

By moving the subframe, however, it is possible to centre the camber evenly within the specified tolerance range.

While you can't adjust camber on the front the chart says that the tolerance per whell is 30'. So theoretically you could have a degree of difference between the wheels and still be in tolerance. If the car is drifting on flat road I would suspect toe first which is adjustable vie the track rod ends. I will look up the procedure for ajusting the sub frame when I get home.

  • ‒ Remove noise insulation tray.
  • ‒ → Unscrew all 4 bolts (-1- and -2-).

  • ‒ → Use a plastic-coated tyre lever to push the subframe into the appropriate position.

Push in the centre of the subframe, between the subframe itself and the longitudinal member of the body.

If you do not have a plastic-coated tyre lever, use a standard tyre lever with adhesive tape wrapped around it.

Important:

Do not damage any components.
