Calm Chris
Little 22" Humax LCD TV in the morning room has gone weird. Every other time it's turned on rather than getting a picture it simply screens a haze of vertical lines of mixed colours. After 3-5 minutes the TV sorts itself out everything is normal. If you turn it off (once the picture is established) it comes back on and works fine. If you turn it off and leave it overnight the picture reverts to lines for 3- 5 minutes before untwisting it's knickers and giving a picture. So whatever the problem, it appears to be a issue when cold / off for a period of time. Now I know I can't even begin to repair this myself, but since the TV works after a warm up time, the picture is fine and all facilities work after the picture is restored is it worth sending off- or shall I just consign it to the TV graveyard and buy a new one? Biscuits
Hi Chris, Sounds like there is a dry joint somewhere on the circuit board, so when the TV warms up the joint closes and your TV works again. Unfortunatly, finding such fault is very difficult without specific manufacturer knowledge.
pingpongpo
You could always get your soldering iron out and remake each joint.... I'd do it if it saved me buying a new one!!
